Taking place in the chapter "Cat, Rat and Dog," this is Harry, Ron and Hermione's first encounter with Sirius Black. At this point, Harry believes Sirius killed his parents, and Sirius seeking to tell all three the truth, takes their wands with the Expelliarumus spell.
The illustrations of renown artist Mary GrandPré have appeared in each of the Harry Potter series. Her work has also appeared in Time and The Atlantic Monthly. Additionally, her talent for environment/scenery has been used for Dreamworks on the production of Antz.
